Parabotia Dabry

Parabotia Dabry de Thiersant, 1872 (type species: Parabotia fasciata Dabry de Thiersant, 1872, by monotypy). Gender feminine.

Remarks. Nalbant (2002: 316) lists the author of Parabotia and P. fasciata as "Guichenot, in Dabry de Thiersant, 1872". Dabry de Thiersant (1872) effectively mentions Guichenot as author of the name. But Guichenot did not publish this name. He apparently only labelled the fishes under that name in the collection (other cases are mentioned, e.g., by Bleeker, 1871) and clearly Dabry is responsible of the conditions which make the name available, and therefore is sole author (ICZN art. 50.1 is explicit).
