Type Locality: Dem. Rep. Congo, Mambaka .

Vernacular Names: Christy's African Dormouse.

Distribution: N Dem. Rep. Congo (Hatt, 1940 a; Holden, 1996 b; Schlitter et al., 1985), S Cameroon (Holden 1996 b; Robbins and Schlitter, 1981).

Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).

Discussion: Subgenus Graphiurus . Morphological data and comparison with morphologically similar species given by Holden (1996 b), Robbins and Schlitter (1981) and Schlitter et al. (1985). Reviewed by Rossolimo et al. (2001) and Holden (In Press). A much needed systematic revision of the G. murinus species group should include careful comparisons with G. christyi, as some E African G. murinus populations (particularly montane) closely resemble that species.
