Centris costaricensis Friese, 1924: 22 . Junior primary homonym of C. costaricensis Crawford, 1907 (= C. vittata Lepeletier, 1841).

Type data: This species was described from a single male collected by Herrn Albert Schmidt in San José, Costa Rica. The holotype was housed at ZMB and it had the following data label: Brasil S. Leopoldo [printed with handwritten superimposed text] Costa Rica Jose 1923 [handwritten]\ Centris costaricensis Fr. ♂ [handwritten] Friese det. 25 [printed]\ [red label] Type [printed]\ [bluish ink] Zool. Mus. Berlin [printed] (ZMB). Unfortunately, this specimen was lost in the fire that destroyed the Museu Nacional do Rio de Janeiro in 2018 .
