Description of female Apterous; length 4.2–4.6 mm. Head black, except mandible, clypeus and anterior region of face testaceous; antenna brown, except segments 1–2 testaceous; mesosoma and metasoma black; legs testaceous, except coxae and femora partly black. Antenna clavate; antennal segments in following proportions: 9:8:25:19:16:12:12:10:10:13. Head excavated, shiny, with numerous and strong longitudinal striae on face and vertex, unsculptured among striae; frontal line complete; occipital carina absent; POL = 2; OL = 2.5; OOL = 11; temple distinct. Palpal formula 6/3. Pronotum shiny, smooth, unsculptured, hairy, crossed by strong transverse impression. Scutum shiny, rugose, with two lateral pointed apophyses (Plate 131I). Metanotum inclined, not hollow behind scutellum. Metathorax + propodeum shiny, with anterior surface unsculptured and posterior surface transversely striate. Mesopleuron and metapleuron transversely striate. Meso-metapleural suture obsolete (slight track visible). Fore tarsal segments in following proportions: 18:3.5:6:26:36. Enlarged claw (Plate 131J) with one small subapical tooth and eight peg-like hairs. Segment 5 of protarsus (Plate 131J) with inner margin proximally serrated, with two rows of one (proximal) + 18 lamellae; distal apex with at least eight lamellae. Tibial spurs 1/0/1.
Description of Male. Fully winged; length 2.0 mm. Head, antenna and mesosoma black; metasoma brown; legs testaceous, except coxae, femora and tibiae brown. Antenna filiform; antennal segments in following proportions: 4:5:8:6:6:6:5:6:6:9; antennal segment 3 less than four times as long as broad (8:2.5). Head dull, reticulate rugose; frontal line absent; occipital carina absent; temple distinct; POL = 6; OL = 2.5; OOL = 3.5; greatest breadth of posterior ocelli as long as OL; region between posterior ocelli and eyes weakly excavated and rugose. Palpal formula 6/3. Scutum dull, granulated. Notauli complete, posteriorly separated; minimum distance between notauli about as long as greatest breadth of posterior ocelli. Scutellum and metanotum shiny, smooth, unsculptured. Propodeum dull, reticulate rugose, without longitudinal or transverse keels; dorsal surface with median longitudinal furrow. Fore wing hyaline, without dark transverse bands; distal part of stigmal vein shorter than proximal part (7:10). Dorsal process of paramere (Plate 131B) slender and with distal apex pointed. Tibial spurs 1/1/2.
Material examined. Types: holotype ♀: INDIA: Karnataka, Raichur, ex Exitianus indicus (Distant), dryinid adult emerged 19.X.1982, Shashidhar leg. (DEBI) . Paratypes: same locality label as holotype, dryinid adult emerged 14.X.1982, 1♀ (DEBI); same locality label as holotype, dryinid adult emerged 1.I.1984, Shashidhar leg., 1♀ (AMNH); same locality label as holotype, dryinid adult emerged 6.XII.1983, 1♂ (AMNH; lost) . Other material. INDIA: Orissa, Cuttack, CRRI, 1♀ (BMNH) (Fiori, 1984, as G. cristatus).
Hosts. Cicadellidae (Guglielmino & Olmi, 1997): in India: Exitianus indicus (Distant) (Olmi, 1987c) .
