Type species. Burmanteon olmii Engel, 2003, by original designation and monotypy.

Diagnosis. Female: (Plate 52A – D): fully winged (Plate 52E); occipital carina complete; pronotum with a distinct anterior collar and a posterior disc separated by a transverse impression (Plate 52A); posterior surface of pronotum swollen and with a flat surface; pronotal tubercle present; fore wing with three cells enclosed by pigmented veins (costal, median and submedian) (Plate 52G), stigmal vein and pterostigma present (Plate 52G), distal part of stigmal vein much longer than proximal part (Plate 52E, G) and media vein (M) partly present and strongly sclerotized (Plate 52H); protarsus chelate (Plate 52C, F); chela without rudimentary claw; enlarged claw not spatulate (Plate 52H); inner side of enlarged claw with a row of at least 4 bristles, all longer than greatest breadth of enlarged claw (Plate 52H); protrochanter short and not slender; epicnemium not distinct; tibial spurs 1/1/ 2. Male: unknown.

Distribution. Present only in the Oriental region.
