Aphelopus luteoceps Xu & He 1999c: 1; He & Xu 2002: 70.
Description of Male. Fully winged; length 2.0 mm. Head testaceous, except ocellar region, central area of vertex and upper half of occiput black-brown; antenna testaceous, except segments 1–2 yellow; mesosoma black, except prothorax and mesepisternum yellow; legs yellow; metasoma black-brown. Antenna filiform; antennal segments in following proportions: 2.0:2.0:2.7:3.0:3.0:3.3:3.0:3.0:3.0:4.5. Head dull, granulated; frontal line incomplete; POL = 3.5; OL = 2.0; OOL = 2.0; OPL = 1.8; TL = 1.8; greatest breadth of posterior ocelli shorter than OPL (1.0:1.8); occipital carina complete. Scutum, scutellum and metanotum dull, granulated. Notauli incomplete, reaching approximately 0.5 length of scutum. Mesopleuron slightly granulated. Propodeum with transverse keel between dorsal and posterior surface; dorsal surface reticulate rugose; posterior surface with two longitudinal keels, lateral areas reticulate rugose and median area smooth, except anterior third reticulate rugose. Fore wing hyaline, without dark transverse bands. Basivolsella (Plate 6G) with two subdistal bristles, without an outer basal process. Tibial spurs 1/1/2.
Female. Unknown.
Material examined. Types: holotype ♂: CHINA: Zhejiang, Mt. Tianmushan, 9.VI.1992, Xuexin Chen leg. (ZJUC) . Actually the holotype is damaged, almost completetly destroyed by Psocoptera. There are only the labels, metasoma and slide of genitalia, but not the head and mesosoma. Paratype: CHINA: Zhejiang, Mt. Tianmushan, 9.VI.1992, Xuexin Chen leg., 1♂ (ZJUC) . Other material. CHINA: Yunnan, Pingbian, Mt. Baihushan, 17.VII.2003, Long Hu leg., 1♂ (SCAU) .
