Material examined. 1 male, 13.1 by 10.7 mm (ZRC; NJL161037), Tagoloan River, Brgy. Poblacion, Tagoloan town, Misamis Oriental prov., coll. N.J. Lagare, 24-25 Sep. 2016 .

Remarks. Ptychognathus pusillus Heller, 1865 (type locality: unknown) has been described and figured in detail by De Man (1895: 99, pl. 28 figs. 22, 22a–d, 1905: 537, pl. 17 figs. 1–5). It has a wide Indo-West Pacific distribution ranging from the Comoro Is., Nicobar Is., Andaman Is., and Christmas I., to Flores I., Lombok I., Japan, and Fiji (Tesch 1918a; Bouchard et al. 2013). The present material from Tagoloan, a single male specimen, agrees well with the published descriptions. It was collected along the stony riverbank of the brackish downstream section of the Tagoloan River about 1 km inland.
