Distribution. South China Sea, near Vietnam, and East China Sea, near Taiwan, 170– 760 m.

Remarks. An intermediate valve of a specimen from Suruga Bay, illustrated by Saito

(1997, fig. 13) and identified as Lepidozona reevei Kaas & Van Belle 1987 is very similar to the valves of L. acostata and may belong to it (Sirenko 2016b). In this case this species inhabits the Suruga Bay, like several representatives of the genera Leptochiton, Hanleyella, Nierstraszella and Notoplax found both, in Suruga Bay and in Taiwan.
