Xenylla carolinensis Wray, 1946, new synonym of Xenyllodes armatus Axelson, 1903

Specimens examined. Six specimens labeled “ type series”, USA, North Carolina, Raleigh, 5 May 1943, 6 miles east on banks of Neuse River, dead leaves in stump cavity, M. W. Wig, coll.

Remarks. These specimens clearly are not Hypogastruridae, but fit well within the limits of Xenyllodes armatus (Odontellidae) given by Christiansen & Bellinger (1980, 1998).
