Genus DROSICHA Walker

Drosicha Walker, 1858: 306 . Type species: Drosicha contrahens Walker by monotypy and original designation. Villigera Karsch, 1877: 16 . Cockerellella MacGillivray, 1921: 71 . Greeniella MacGillivray, 1921: 75 . Warajicoccus Kuwana, 1922: 7 .

Diagnostic characters of the adult female: In slide-mounted adult female specimens, the genus is recognized by having: (i) body covered with very numerous, crowded flagellate setae; (ii) antennae each with 7‒11 segments and numerous setae; (iii) legs well developed, usually covered with stout setae; (iv) thoracic spiracles large, each with a few pores present near atrium; (v) abdominal spiracles numbering 7 pairs, situated near dorsal margins, conspicuous, each usually with few pores present near atrium but never within it; (vi) anal opening simple, surrounded by setae and pores; (vii) anal tube short, inner end U-shaped or V-shaped and chitinised; (viii) cicatrices numbering three, large, usually oval, situated close together just posterior to vulva.

Comments: Worldwide, 26 species are included in Drosicha (García Morales et al. 2016); D. turkestanica Archangelskaya has been recorded from Iran (Moghaddam 2009).
