Host plant/gall: Sonchus asper (L.) Hill—cryptic galls inside the stem.

Distribution in Dobrogea: Km 33 on Constanţa-Mangalia road, Comana village, Hagieni forest Natural Reserve, Neptun resort, CT county (Şchiopu, herein recorded).

World distribution: France (Barbotin, 1972), Spain (Nieves-Aldrey,1989, 2001), Great Britain (Bowdrey, 1994; Forshage et al., 2017), North America— Canada and USA (Nastasi & Deans, 2024).
