submarginata (Arna [sic!]) Walker 1867a: 139 . [Fig. 196]
Original data: “ a. Tejuca, Rio Janeiro. Presented by the Rev. H. Clark. ” [holotype]
HOLOTYPE ♀: red-margined holotype disc; green-margined type disc; “TEJUCA, Jany 1857. H. Clark.”; “37. ARNA [sic!] SUBMARGINATA.”; “NHMUK 010592338”. Fifth right antennomere, and fourth and fifth left antennomeres missing (Fig. 196).
Current status: Podisus distinctus (Stål, 1860) (synonymised by Brugnera et al. 2020a: 548).
Note: Walker (1867a: 139) saw the difference with A. obscura (“The longer thoracic spines distinguish it from A. obscura ”), now a synonym of Podisus nigrispinus . Presumably, he did not know Telepta distincta Stål as he did not list any specimens in the collection of NHMUK. He nevertheless placed that species in the genus Arma (Walker, 1867a: 137) .
