Colletes rothschildi Vachal 1909: 534, ♀ holotype (type locality: “Afrique Orient.Angl., Sud du Lac Rodolphe, Entre le chemin de fer et le Lac”) (MNHN, examined).

New records (2 specimens). ETHIOPIA: 1 ♂, 20 km SSE Yabelo, E38°11′ N04°43′, 1530 m, 20.v.2015, J. Halada (OÖLM) ; 1 ♂, Wachile env., E39°03′ N04°32′, 1070 m, 30.–31.v.2015, J. Halada (OÖLM) .

General distribution. The species is known from desert regions of East and Northeast Africa.
