Anacroneuria galba Jewett, 1960
(Figs. 6A–D)
Anacroneuria galba Jewett, 1960b: 3; Illies, 1966: 317; Froehlich, 2010: 156.
Material examined (picture). BR, GO. Paratype: Formoso, 26.v.1956, F.S . T., 1 male (NHM).
Remarks. The species was described by Jewett (1960b) based on specimens from the region of Formoso, in the north of Goiás state, BR. Similarly to A. dourada, according to the original description the type series is deposited in the National Museum of Rio de Janeiro, RJ, BR (holotype) and NHM, CA, USA (paratypes). However, the holotype is also currently lost. Fortunately, a dry preserved paratype is located in the NHM. The male paratype is well preserved. Its genitalia has not been dissected and there are no illustrations of the penial armature of the species. Therefore, the morphology of this paratype, including the morphology of the penial armature, needs to be carefully studied before trying to associate it with specimens collected in the type locality in north of Goiás state. The fact that the paratype is male can facilitate this process. The other specimens of A. galba cited by Jewett (1960b) for other localities (Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais, and São Paulo states) probably belong to other species (Froehlich 2010).
