Current name: Festuca rubra L. subsp. rubra var. barbata (Schrank) Hack. ( Poaceae).

Note: See Howarth (in J. Linn Soc., Bot. 46: 325-326. 1923). Kerguélen (in Lejeunia, n.s., 75: 171, 173-174. 1975) provided a confused type statement "Type: 'Habitat in Europae pratis siccus’ (LINN, holo) 'SCHEUCHZ, 285 ’”, and informally rejected the name as ambiguous. However, no formal proposal was made.
