Diagnosis. The forewing length is 7.0–8.0 mm in both sexes. The species is variable in its size and the degree of the expression of the forewing markings (demonstrated by Bucsek (2012)). Miltochrista quadrata is superficially reminiscent of a number of taxa in the M. strigipennis species-group, viz. M. circumdata, M. corrigera, M. cumseriata, M. pectena (illustrated by Bucsek 2012), and M. poring (illustrated by Holloway (2001)), and the reliable identification requires the examination of the genitalia structures. The male genitalia of the species are characterised by the relatively broad and rectangular distal section of the valva and the strongly medially dilated uncus. The detailed comparison of the genitalia of both sexes of M. quadrata with M. andamana is provided above in the diagnosis of the latter species.

Distribution. Malaysia (Borneo and Malay Peninsula) (Holloway 2001; Bucsek 2012), Indonesia (Sumatra Island), Cambodia (Bae et al. 2016), South Thailand (Nakhon Si Thammarat and Chumphon Provinces) and Northeast India (Assam) (new records).
