Gymnetis hieroglyphica (Vigors, 1824)
New food record. PARAGUAY: Canindeyú: Reserva Natural Mbaracayú, Aguará-ñú, 13-XII-2003, Di Iorio leg., 1 male (ODIC) (Di Iorio 2013: fig. 68), feeding on pollen and/or nectar on the inflorescence of Butia leiospatha (= Butia paraguariensis) ( Arecaceae).
Note. The specimen was found in a palm savanna of the Cerrado (Marín et al. 1998). One female of Pelidnota sumptuosa Vigors, 1825 ( Scarabaeidae: Rutelinae) was also found on another inflorescence at the same day of G. hieroglyphica .
