TYPE LOCALITY: Ecuador, Pichincha, near Gualea .
DISTRIBUTION: Ecuador and Guyana to Sonora and Tamaulipas (Mexico).
SYNONYMS: hondurensis, occidentalis .
COMMENTS: Subgenus Sturnira . Includes hondurensis; see Jones and Carter (1976:22). Bolivian records probably pertain to bogotensis; Peruvian ones definitely do; see Anderson et al. (1982:6).
