Isometopus cuneatus (Distant, 1904)

Turnebus cuneatus Distant, 1904: 485 (as new species, DV).

Isometopus cuneatus: McAtee & Malloch 1924: 76; Schuh 1995: 8 (catalogue), 2002–2013 (online catalogue).

Diagnosis. Easily recognized by the evenly yellowish-brown head, pronotum, mesonotum, scutellum, and sternum; eyes, first and second joints of antennae, corium, labium, abdomen beneath, and intermediate and posterior femora black; dorsum coarsely punctate with short setae; membrane pale smoky hyaline; lateral margins of pronotum distinctly reflexed; length about 3.5 mm long (Distant 1904).

Type material examined. Holotype (♀): SRI L anka Εas “ Ceylon ”Γ: Pundaluoya, 2-83, Green leg. (BMNH).

Other specimens examined: InDIaWKarnataka, 1♀, Bangalore, GKVK, 24.vi.2015, Yeshwanth, H M. leg. (UASB) .

Distribution. India (Karnataka); Sri Lanka.

Biology. Unknown.

Discussion. The type preserved in the BMNH (Fig. 9 A–B) is badly damaged: the corium, cuneus, legs and antenna are missing. However, I. cuneatus can be separated from the relatively similar P. feanus by the head structure, the lighter scutellum contrasting with the dark clavus, and the more pointed anterior angles of pronotum that

partially overlap the eyes (see Distant 1904: 485, Fig. 318 and our Fig. 9A).An additional female (Fig. 2A) collected in Bangalore may be this species.
