Note: Steyskal 1950: 33 (revision, key to species) wrote that H. Souza Lopes, CEIOC, loaned Brazilian Sciomyzidae to him, including specimens of P. guttalaris (1♂ 1♀), P. brasiliensis (8♂, of which 2♂ were retained in USNM), and P. iguassu (1♂).
