HOSTS/PREY OF LARVAE: Operculate brackish-water snails. Laboratory rearings indicate that the larvae of this species probably feed and develop quickly on small operculate snails ( Bittium, Cingula, and Hydrobia). In laboratory rearings, some larvae developed to puparia on several genera of nonoperculate freshwater snails, but other larvae died before pupariation. (Valley & Berg 1977: 18).
