Distribution. Holarctic; first record for Ukraine.
Taxonomical remark. This common and widespread species was re-described by Horstmann (2006: 1483–1485). It is related to M. globulator, but differs by the different color pattern of mesoscutum (reddish, with three black longitudinal stripes) and longer pectination of hind claw (see fig. 47 in Horstmann 2006).
