The genus Agnoea can be divided into two subgenera Agnoea Walsingham, 1907 and Tubuliferodes Toll, 1956, based on the differences in the gnathos of the male genitalia (Jaeckh, 1972). It is the most speciose group in Lypusinae, currently including 25 species, three of which are known from Korea. Its distribution spans across the Palearctic region but the majority of the congeners occur in Europe. The larvae are associated with the angiosperm genera including Fagus, Carpinus, Populus, Quercus, and Vaccinium (Tokár et al. 2005) .
