Jivaro Complex
Perkins 1980: 37
Five species were placed in the Jivaro Complex by Perkins (1980). That grouping now appears to be composite, and will require additional study to more accurately adduce relationships. As a first step, H. premordica is removed and placed in the Premordica Complex. The aedeagi of both H. jivaro and H. anaphora have two long setae on the dorsal surface (Figs. 105–106). Likewise, both H. premordica and H. ecuadormica have two setae (Figs. 116– 117). If these setae are truly indicative of a close relationship, then perhaps H. hyalina, which lacks these setae (Fig. 107), should eventually be placed in another species complex.
