Ampla Complex
Three species comprise the Ampla Complex: H. ampla, H. manabica, and H. cochabamba . These are medium sized to large species (ca. 1.44–1.97 mm), which have a wide body form, are uniformly darkly colored dorsally, and lack a pronotal scintilla (Figs. 126–127, 130). The mesoventral intercoxal process (P2) is comparatively narrow, and the metaventrite does not have plaques. The male genitalia in this complex have a basic plan similarity, having the apex with three processes (one from the main piece and two from the distal piece), the gonopore bearing process is tube-like, pointing from the right to the left side, and the parameres are relatively short and originate near the distal piece (Figs. 128–129, 132). Species in this complex are currently known from Bolivia ( H. cochabamba) and Ecuador ( H. ampla and H. manabica).
