Regional records: Iraq: Salman 1985 (as Stenothoe irakiensis **); Kuwait: this study (KISR-FM075C/ Amphipoda /074; Fig. 3N).
Local distribution and occurrence: Kuwait Bay (Al-Judailiat, Ras Ajuza), Ras Al-Zour, Al-Khiran, Al-Nuwaiseeb, Failaka Island, Auha Island; occasional (11%).
Habitat: Intertidal and subtidal zones; sand, rocks, shells, sponges, Sargassum spp., other brown algae, and tubes of blue coral-worm Spirobranchus sinuspersicus .
** Taxonomic note: Stenothoe irakiensis Salman, 1985 was originally described from Iraq but later was redefined as a junior synonym of Stenothoe gallensis (Krapp-Schickel 2015) .
