Pseudophoxinus hittitorum
Common name. Hittite spring minnow.
Diagnosis. Distinguished from other species of Pseudophoxinus in Central Anatolia by: ○ 84–96+1–2 lateral-line scales / ○ flank plain brown or grey without prominent stripe / ○ pelvic axillary lobe absent / ○ lateral line complete / ○ no keel between posterior end of pelvic base and anus / ○ pelvic origin clearly behind vertical of dorsal origin / ○ upper lip projecting beyond tip of lower lip / ○ 6–8 short gill rakers / ○ 26–30 scales between lateral line and dorsal origin / ○ last simple dorsal ray flexible / ○ pelvic short, not reaching to anus / ○ dorsal origin behind vertical of pelvic origin. Size up to 104 mm SL.
Distribution . Türkiye: Lake Beyşehir basin and Seydişehir canal flowing to Lake Suğla.
Habitat . Springs and spring-fed streams with clear water and dense vegetation.

Conservation status. VU; appears to be declining within its small range.
