Palaearctic Region: China (Fujian, Guangdong, Guizhou, Hainan, Henan, Hong Kong, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Jilin, Sichuan, Taiwan, Yunnan, Zhejiang); Japan; Mongolia; North and South Korea (Yiu 2009; Lin and Yang 2019; Danilevsky 2020). Oriental Region: India (Assam); Laos; Myanmar (Kariyanna et al. 2017).

Remarks.
This species varies remarkably in size, from 12-21 mm in total length, to 3-5 mm in maximum width. In Macau, adults are active throughout the warmer parts of the year, from April till November. Larvae are reported to develop in pine trees, Pinus spp. (Yiu 2009; Lim et al. 2014) but have not been reported as causing damage to plantations or becoming invasive.
