Notanthidium Isensee

The genus was proposed by Isensee in 1927 to include Anthidium steloides Spinola. Notanthidium steloides is readily recognized by the presence of some peculiar characters, such as: clypeus truncate, not at all overhanging base of labrum; female with mandibles modified and antennal scape resting in a frontal scrobe. The only species of this genus occurs in central and southern Chile and in the provinces of Neuquén and Chubut, Argentina.
