Parangitia MICAPENNIS Kaye, 1922
Proceedings of the Zoological Society of London, 67, 991–998[994], pl. I: fig. 2. Combination still valid (see Poole 1989).
Holotype, male, pinned:
Specimen data: No locality data. “Lamont | collection | 1950-16” [Printed] with label with “ TYPE ” [Handwritten in red ink] glued to it. “ Parangitia micapennis Kaye ” [Handwritten Lamont cabinet label]. Label bearing justification of holotype status by M.J.W.Cock, 1996.
Remarks: This specimen collected in Trinidad by Sir N. Lamont was considered by Lamont to be unambiguously the holotype. It is illustrated in colour in Pl. I: fig. 2 (Kaye 1922, Kaye & Lamont 1927). Kaye & Lamont (1927) give the type locality as “Palmiste”. Poole (1989) erroneously suggests that the holotype is in BM(NH).
