Distribution: Neotropical (Ecuador, Mexico).

Records in Ecuador: Pichincha (riverbanks of río Alamo, 6 km leaving Nono), Zamora Chinchipe ( San Francisco Biological Reserve) and Loja (Podocarpus National Park-Cajanuma).

Habitat: Moss from a tree-stump on the riverbank. Moss and fern stems from riverside rock. Leaf litter and forest soil. Litterbags of Clusia spp. Graffenieda emarginata and Hediosmum sp.
