Distribution: Semicosmopolitan.

Records in Ecuador: Zamora Chinchipe ( San Francisco Biological Reserve) and Loja (andean mountain region of the Loja valley).

Habitat: Soil and litter of degraded forest. Abandoned pasture soil. Litterbags of Puteria sp., Cavendishia zamorensis and Mollinedia sp.

Remarks: Record based on unconfirmed identification. Ramírez-Castillo et al. (2018) probably mistakenly mentioned Hammer 1958 as the author of the species.
