Notophthiracarus ecphylus Niedbała & Illig, 2007

Distribution: Ecuador.

Records in Ecuador: Zamora Chinchipe ( San Francisco Biological Reserve) and Tungurahua (on the trail to Tungurahua volcano, ca. 2 km S from Baños de Agua Santa city) .

Habitat: Bark, organic litter and the upper soil layer, especially from Graffenrieda emarginata litter. Ruderal community, under a tree with remainders of soil and grass.
