Genus Mesobuthus Vachon, 1950

The main finding of this study, based on the results of morphological examinations and multivariate statistical analysis of specimens is that M. e. phillipsi can be classified separately from other studied morphological subspecies; this provides morphological support for raising this subspecies to the species level. Therefore, we provide detailed descriptions for M. eupeus and M. phillipsi stat. nov., diagnosable consistently from each other.
