Also reported as: D. palpata (Sulzer, 1776) (Fieber 1853, Novak 1888)

Distribution in Croatia: Distributed along the Adriatic coast with adjacent islands from North Dalmatia (Šibenik: Skejo & Antolos 25.XII.2012) southwards to Dubrovnik area, mostly in warm lowland areas. Found exclusively in karst caves.

Distribution in Europe: Stenoendemic to the Western Balkans—from Croatia (N Dalmatia) to the south, including Southwest Bosnia and Herzegovina and the northern coast of Montenegro (Chobanov et al. 2016).

Nomenclatural note: In the original description, Burmeister wrote “Germ.” after the species’ name, implying that Germar is the author of the description..
