First faunistic record for Croatia: this study

Distribution in Croatia: Known with certainty from two localities in Hrvatsko Zagorje, found syntopically with X. pfaendleri . Reported also from Sisak (Frivaldszky 1868) and Vransko jezero on Cres Isl. (Us 1964), but those records should be revised.

Distribution in Europe: From Northern Spain (western border of the distribution) to Eastern European Russia (eastern border) and from the Peloponnesus (southern border) to Czechia (northern border) (Hochkirch et al. 2016).
