Distribution in Croatia: Along the Adriatic coast, and some Dinaric Mts. (Dinara, Velebit Mt.) influenced by the Mediterranean climate, numerous Adriatic islands.

Distribution in Europe: Mostly Mediterranean, from Portugal in the west to Southern European Russia in the east, and from Crete and Cyprus in the south to Eastern Austria, Southern Slovakia, and France in the north (Hochkirch et al. 2016).
