Geitogonalia Young, 1977: 524 . Type-species: Tettigonia quatuordecimmaculata Taschenberg.
Diagnosis. (1) Thorax with pronotal width greater than transocular width of head; (2) *male pygofer with thin elongate setae on anteroventral portion; (3) *subgenital plate with thin elongate intercalary setae between macrosetae; (4) connective T-shaped; (5) style with apex truncate, with distinct outer anteapical lobe *bearing single elongate seta; (6) aedeagus with one or two pairs of apical processes; (7) paraphyses present; and (8) female sternite VII with dentiform projection at middle of posterior margin.
Remarks. Features marked with an asterisk (*) were herein added to the diagnosis and are present in all species. The following features were removed from the diagnosis: (1) “aedeagus with ventral margin concave,” which does not apply to G. piei sp. nov. and G. tetracorni sp. nov. (ventral margin convex in the former and straight in the latter); and (2) “aedeagus with a pair of apical processes directed dorsally,” which is not observed in G. buccina sp. nov. whose pair of apical processes are directed anterad and curved ventrally. In all species the aedeagus has at least one pair of apical processes ( G. tetracorni sp. nov. has two pairs, one dorsally and another ventrally).
