Curculio teter Fabricius, 1792
This species was described very briefly from specimens collected by Dr. Allioni in Italy. In Fabricius' collection (ZMUC) stand eleven possible syntypes of Curculio teter (A. Solodovnikov, pers. comm.), all of which were studied by us and found to agree with the current concept of this species. However, only two of them were collected in Italy, but one of these by Bergsöe rather than Allioni. Because of these discrepancies with the data in the original description, we believe that only one specimen, a male, can be considered as a syntype of Curculio teter . It is labelled as follows: “ Italia, Mus: S: gT: L, Tetrum Fabr. ” (lectotype here designated).
