Gymnetron eoum Rosenschoeld, 1838

Gymnetron eoum was described from female specimens collected in Nepal, without precise locality, on Verbascum niveum and reported as being closely related to Gymnetron tetrum (presently Rhinusa tetra). Subsequently no authors referred to this taxon other than Klima (1934), who quoted it as a valid species. At NHRS we examined a female syntype labelled “ Typus / Nepaul [the then name of the present Nepal] in semin: Verbasci nivei, Falderm.” (lectotype here designated). The specimen fully agrees with the lectotype of R. tetra .
