Distribution and remarks.
Known from Algeria, Italy (Sardinia), and Tunisia (Gusenleitner and Schwarz 2002). This species is very similar to A. ventricosa Dours, 1873 but differs by the less dense scutal punctures. Given the very slight differences between A. rotundata, A. ventricosa, and the more eastern A. brumanensis Friese, 1899, this group could benefit from molecular examination.
