Distribution. Western Atlantic – from North Carolina to southwestern Florida, West Indies to Brazil (from Pará to São Paulo) (Williams 1984; Ramos-Porto & Coelho 1998).

Ecological notes. From shallow waters to 72 m (Ramos-Porto & Coelho 1990).
