Type locality. Described from Venezia and Chioggia (Italy), Morea (= Peloponnese, Greece), and Black Sea.

Remarks. Subsequently figured (1889a, pl. II, fig. 2). Recorded by MolluscaBase (2018) as a synonym of Donax trunculus Linnaeus, 1758 .
