MAP 10. Distribution of Sirthenea nitida Chłond, 2008 .

Diagnosis. This species is similar to S. caiana, but can be easily distinguished from this species by the following combination of characters: body smaller, dorsal surface of antennifers corrugated, transversal furrow of head deep, lack of collar on pronotum, apodeme depression on anterior pronotal lobe short and wide, posterior pronotal lobe not sculptured, ridges of proepisternum and proepimeron not connected, and legs dark. The unique character of this species among all representatives of the genus are spiracles III–IV fused with ventral connexival suture (Fig. 187).

Redescription: Color: Body generally brownish black with yellowish markings (Fig. 205). Basal and apical parts of clypeus, mandibular and maxillary plate antennomeres, visible labial segments brownish. Basiflagellum with darker basal part, distiflagellum with pale apical part. Intercalar segments pale. Setae on thorax goldish. Scutellum black with dark brown apex and long setae. Hemelytron with yellowish in basal part of corium and in basal fourth of clavus, with darker base; costal margin shiny, brown. Corium with short, dark and golden setae. Fore femur yellowish with brownish apex and longitudinal stripes. Fore tibia yellowish with darker basal and apical parts. Middle and hind femur bicolorous with pale, yellow base and brown apical part with paler apex. Middle and hind tibia brown with whitish basal part. Tarsus yellowish and connexives yellowish. Abdomen ventrally brown, second abdominal darker. Pygophore with paler parameres.

Structure: Body small-sized and slender (Figs. 103, 205). Head, pronotum, scutellum, basal part and costal margin of hemelytron shiny. Head with long setae. Anteocular part of head 2,5 times longer than postocular part. Eyes and ocelli large, eyes narrower than synthlipsis with S-like posterior margin in lateral view. Dorsal surface of antenniferes corrugated. Scape almost reaching apex of head, thickened distally with long setae. Pedicel with dense, short setae and 5 trichobothrial setae (Fig. 178). Basi- and distiflagellum with dense, short and several long setae. Second visible labial segment enlarged, reaching or slightly surpassing posterior margin of ocelli. Apodeme depression of head shallow, transversal furrow of head deep. Pronotum, meso- and metathoracic sterna, legs and abdomen ventrally with long setae. Anterior pronotal lobe without collar, sculptured with granulated, pilose, distinct sulci. Ridges of proepisternum and proepimeron not connected in entire length. Apodeme depression of anterior pronotal lobe short and wide. Posterior pronotal lobe smooth; distinctly depressed in middle of anterior margin. Metapleura with two complete ridges. Hemelytron slightly surpassing apex of abdomen. Spiracles III–IV fused with ventral connexival suture.

Genitalia: Median process of pygophore with rounded lateral dilation and distinct elongated, sharp apex (Fig. 109). Both parameres (Figs. 104–108) triangular, narrow and dilated in basal part. Right paramere broader than left in lateral view, with a sharp process on inner side (Figs. 107, 108). Left paramere (Figs. 105, 106) with a tubercular process on inner side. Basal plate curved and pedicel bent laterally (Figs. 110–112). Basal lobe of dorsal phallothecal sclerite enlarged on both sides (bigger on right side), left-apical part of phallotheca elongated in visible process with bent apex (Figs. 110–112).

Measurements (in mm): Body length: 14.5–15.3; maximum width of abdomen: 3.3–3.5; head length: 2.3–2.8; head width: 1.4–1.6; length of anteocular part: 1.2–1.5; length of postocular part: 0.5–0.6; length of synthlipsis: 0.7–0.8; interocellar distance: 0.4–0.5; lengths of antennal segments I:II:III:IV: 0.8–1.0, 1.7–1.8, 1.5–1.6, 1.4–1.6; lengths of labial segments I:II:III: 0.7–0.8, 1.8–2.0, 1.0–1.2; maximum length of anterior pronotal lobe: 1.9–2.0; maximum length of posterior pronotal lobe: 1.2–1.5; maximum width of anterior pronotal lobe: 2.2–2.3; maximum width of posterior pronotal lobe: 3.0; length of scutellum: 1.2–1.7; length of hemelytron: 9.8–10.2.

Comments: This species is known only from macropterous males.

Distribution: China (Yunnan), Laos (Map 10).
