Diagnosis. The wing pattern of Statherotis leucaspis (Fig. 4) is similar to S. discana . It can be distinguished by the ground color in both forewing and hindwing being paler or brighter than that of S. discana . The male hindwing (Fig. 4) is similar to S. discana in having a subtriangular, enlarged anal margin with white fringe scales and a large patch of dense modified scales on the underside of the anal area (Fig. 16), but S. leucaspis lacks the patch of modified black scales on the medial upperside of the hindwing (Fig. 4) and on the medial underside of the forewing, as shown in S. discana (Fig. 15). The hind tibia (Fig. 20) has a larger tuft of yellowish white hair pencils than S. discana . Male genitalia (Fig. 31) are similar to S. discana but the cucullus width is wider than S. discana .

Remarks. Specimens of Statherotis leucaspis from Thailand were collected from similar habitats as S. discana (evergreen forest, hill evergreen forest, dry evergreen forest, mixed deciduous forest, dry dipterocarp forest, grassland, and restoration forest) at a wide range of elevations, 33–1,264 m.
