Type Locality: Argentina, Prov. Neuquén, 2 km W Cerro Puntudo, Estancia Fortín Chacabuco (1075 m).

Vernacular Names: Colonial Tuco-tuco.

Distribution: In region of Reserva Nacional del Parque Nacional Nahuel Huapi, Neuquén Prov., Argentina.

Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (nt).

Discussion: Not included in Redford and Eisenberg (1992). Karyotype has 2n=56 and FN=72 (Gallardo, 1991) but see Reig et al. (1992) for comments concerning FN.
