(lecto-, designated here: P06811144!; isolecto-: P06811145!?, P06811146!). – Note: Carpinus polyneura is accepted as a species, with the two varieties (with C. polyneura var. sungpanensis) that are listed here, in the World Checklist (Govaerts & Frodin 1998) and in the Flora Sichuanica (Editorial Board of the Flora Sichuanica 2012), but they are accepted as two distinct species in the Flora of China (Li & Skvortsov 1999).
