General distribution. North and north-eastern Africa, Mauritania, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Iran (CARAYON 1972b, GHAURI 1985, PÉRICART 1996, LINNAVUORI 2004, CARAPEZZA et al. 2014).

Biology. Reported from maize (Zea mays) plantations (BALLAL & YAMADA 2016).
