Genus Meloe Linné, 1758

The genus, primarily Holarctic, is distributed in the Afrotropical Region with two subgenera, the nominate and Afromeleoe, both represented in Namibia . The Afrotropical species of this genus were revised by Bologna & Pinto (1998).

Distribution. Southern Mozambique, Namibia, northeastern South Africa, and Zimbabwe.
