Material examined. 1 male. CHINA, Zhejiang province, Daishan county, Zhoushan city, 5-VIII-2016, leg. Shu-qin Ji and Min Wang. 1 male. CHINA, Zhejiang province, Changgang mountain, Zhoushan city, 3-VIII-2016, leg. Shuqin Ji and Min Wang. 1 male. CHINA, Guizhou province, Fodingshan Nature Reserve, Shiqian county, Tongren city, altitude 617 m, 2-V-2018, leg. Fu-hong Wei (SCAU) .

Identification notes. Wingspan about 45 mm. Forewing purplish brown, orbicular stigma small, reniform stigma big, both of them purplish brown with greyish yellow edge. Hindwing with a brownish yellow speckle at anal angle, terminal band brownish black, discal spot small and obvious.

Diagnosis. S. subflava can be separated from the other species by the following characters: forewing apex acute, anterior part outwardly protruding; hindwing with a yellow speckle before anal angle, terminal band brownish black, discal spot small.

Distribution. China (Heilongjiang, Liaoning, Hebei, Shandong, Hubei, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Guizhou), Japan, North Korea, Nepal, Myanmar, Vietnam, Malay Peninsula (Chen 1999).
